When starting out on any new venture it’s important to do your research first. This goes for raising rabbits as well. Rabbits are fragile animals and can easily get sick, so if you don’t know how to care for them they can die.
There are a lot of things to consider when raising rabbits, but the first thing to do is choosing the right breed for you. Rabbit breeds are different from one another from size to temperament. You have to also know how to handle your rabbit because if handled wrong they can kick you.
When its comes to rabbit sizes some rabbits can be quite small and weigh 1-4 pounds, you also have medium size rabbits that can weigh 8 pounds which is double the weight of the small ones.
Because rabbits differ in size its important that you prepare a large enough shelter for the type of rabbit you want to raise. Your rabbit house should be comfortable for your rabbit and have sections where you can feed and give them some clean water.
Your rabbits should be given enough food and water everyday. The right food to be given to your rabbits are pellets since they contain different types of nutrients that are needed by rabbits to stay healthy. But that doesn’t mean you can’t feed your rabbits some vegetables. One vegetable that is known to be loved by rabbits are carrots.
Rabbits need a lot of care and attention. One thing to be attentive to are the pellets that you feed your rabbits. Pellets turn to go bad after a while thus allowing small molds to live in the food. You should be in watch for this as this mold can make your rabbits sick. Your rabbits also need a balanced diet, and to do this you can add alfalfa to your rabbit food as this will add supplements to their diet.
